The AFC West is becoming a bit more competitive at this point of the season than many had anticipated. The division-leading Kansas City Chiefs have faltered recently and sport just a one-game lead over the Denver Broncos. At the bottom of the pack is the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders, both sitting at 5-8 entering Week 15.

These two teams meet for Thursday Night Football today, and we’re here to help you get a betting edge. We’ve dished out our favorite Chargers vs. Raiders player props for the matchup below alongside Chargers vs. Raiders lines and betting odds from DraftKings Sportsbook. We’ll even touch on DraftKings’ latest $150+ new-user promo.

Chargers vs. Raiders Player Props & Game Preview Featuring Hunter Renfrow & Austin Ekeler for Thursday Night Football

The first of our Chargers vs. Raiders player props focuses on Las Vegas WR Hunter Renfrow. He was an afterthought in this offense for much of the season, but his play has really picked up over the last few weeks. He’s now notched at least three catches and 38 yards in three consecutive outings.

It’s already been well-documented that Los Angeles struggles to defend the pass (261.9, 29th in NFL), so Renfrow should be set up for a solid day. It’s a bit surprising to see his yardage total set so low, as it might only take one big play to clear it. We’ll gladly take it though, which makes Renfrow over 27.5 receiving yards (-110 at DraftKings) the favorite of our Chargers vs. Raiders prop bets.

Sticking with the theme of matchups, Las Vegas has had issues defending the run all season long, ranking 25th in the league allowing 127.4 yards per game on the ground. They’ve even allowed 55+ rushing yards to the top back of each of their last three opponents. With Justin Herbert expected out, look for Los Angeles to rely more on the run game than previously.

It’s not that bad of an idea when you have a guy like Austin Ekeler to hand it off to. It hasn’t been the typically dominant season for him that we’re accustomed to seeing, but he’s now ran for 51+ yards in three of his last five games. He should have no issues eclipsing the 50-yard mark yet again, so in the final of our Chargers vs. Raiders prop bets, we’ll take Ekeler over 49.5 rushing yards (-115 at DraftKings).

Chargers vs. Raiders Spread & Pick Against the Spread x1

With all of the injuries in this one, it’s a bit of a tough game to predict. It remains to be seen whether or not Josh Jacobs will be able to suit up, while Herbert is expected to miss some time with his finger injury. However, we believe the impact of missing Herbert is greater for LA than the impact of missing Jacobs for LV.

Their offense is predicated on airing it out, but will they be able to do that without their franchise QB? Add in the fact that the Raiders are the 10th-best team at slowing down the air attack (207.7 yards allowed per game), and it may be a long game for the Chargers offense.

On the other side, Las Vegas has actually played solid the last few weeks despite owning an 0-3 record in that time span. This will be arguably the worst defense they’ve faced in quite some time, so even their struggling offense that finished last week's game with zero points should be able to muster up something.

All in all, we just don’t like this matchup for a Herbert-less Los Angeles squad. Plus, LV has played extremely well at home this season with an overall record of 4-2 and 4-1-1 ATS. These teams met in Week 1 at full strength when LA took care of business. We expect a different result this time around, as Las Vegas -3 (-110 at DraftKings) is our Chargers vs. Raiders spread pick.

Chargers vs. Raiders Betting Lines Available at DraftKings Sportsbook for TNF, December 14th, 2023

We’ve taken the time to lay out the current Chargers vs. Raiders lines and betting odds at DraftKings Sportsbook below:

  • Spread: Los Angeles Chargers +3 (-110) vs. Las Vegas Raiders -3 (-110)
  • Money Line: Chargers (+130) vs. Raiders (-155)
  • Game Total: Over 33.5 (-108) / Under 33.5 (-112)

  • Austin Ekeler Rushing Yards
